Creamy Pie: An Irresistible and Easy-to-Make Dessert

Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 7 oz crushed sandwich cookies (about 200 g)
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

For the filling:

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz or 395 g)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cans heavy cream (14 oz each, total 28 oz or 400 g)
  • 6.76 fl oz cold whipped cream mix (200 ml)

Preparation

Crust preparation:

  • Crush the sandwich cookies in a blender or food processor until they resemble wet sand.
  • Mix the crushed cookies with melted butter until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 20 cm diameter springform pan, greased with a little oil on the sides.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool.

Filling preparation:

  • In a saucepan, mix the sweetened condensed milk with cornstarch until the starch completely dissolves.
  • Add the heavy cream and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and starts to boil.
  • Cook for an additional 2 minutes to ensure the starch is well cooked. Turn off the heat.
  • Cool the filling at room temperature or in a bowl with water and ice, stirring for about 10 minutes.

Whipped cream preparation:

  • Beat the whipped cream mix until stiff peaks form.

Pie assembly:

  • Once the filling has cooled, mix a small amount with the whipped cream to soften it.
  • Add the remaining filling and gently mix until homogeneous.
  • Pour the filling over the cooled crust in the pan.
  • Smooth the surface with a spoon and refrigerate for approximately 3 to 4 hours until set.

Decoration (optional):

  • Sprinkle some cocoa powder over the pie.

Finalization:

  • Remove from the refrigerator, unmold, and serve. Enjoy this delicious dessert!

Tips:

  • If preferred, you can substitute whipped cream with an extra can of heavy cream in the filling, but the consistency will be heavier.
