Ingredients:
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour (23.8 oz / 675g)
- 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast (0.18 oz / 5g)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of warm water (8 fl oz / 240ml)
- 1 egg
- ½ can of sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, and sugar. Add the salt and mix again.
- Add the cup of warm water (8 fl oz / 240ml) and mix well. Let it rest for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.
- After 10 minutes, add the egg and the sweetened condensed milk to the mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add the rest of the flour until you get a homogeneous dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
- Add the butter or margarine and mix well.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal parts, forming balls with each one.
- Grease a 12-inch diameter by 2-inch high pan and arrange the balls, slightly flattening them.
- Let the dough rest until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the bread rolls for approximately 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Once baked, optionally brush the bread with sweetened condensed milk.
