Ingredients:
- 2.29 oz (65 ml or about 5 tablespoons) of milk
- 1.76 oz (50 ml or about 4 tablespoons) of cooking oil
- 2.65 oz (75 grams or about 0.6 cups) of all-purpose flour
- 5 eggs, separated
- 0.35 oz (10 grams or about 4 teaspoons) of cocoa powder
- 0.53 oz (15 ml or about 1 tablespoon) of water
- 2.29 oz (65 grams or about 5 tablespoons) of sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare a 7-inch (18 cm) cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix the milk and oil.
- Add sifted all-purpose flour to the mixture and stir well.
- Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Add the yolks to the batter and mix.
- In another small bowl, mix the cocoa powder with water and stir well, then set aside.
- In a separate bowl, add a few drops of lemon juice to the egg whites. Beat at medium-high speed.
- Add the sugar in three parts while beating the egg whites: the first part when large bubbles start to appear, the second part when smaller bubbles emerge, and the last part when the texture starts to become visible. Continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold about one-third of the beaten egg whites into the batter.
- Carefully pour the remaining egg whites into the batter and mix until homogeneous.
- Take half of the batter, or about 6 oz (170 grams) of the batter, and mix with the cocoa powder mixture.
- First, pour the white batter into the prepared pan, then add the cocoa batter on top.
- Use a spatula to draw lines along the edge of the pan to create a wavy effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 50 minutes on the lower central shelf.
- Remove from the oven, invert the pan to cool, and then unmold.
- Cut the cake into slices and serve. Enjoy your meal!
