Ingredients:
- 5.4 fl oz (160 ml) warm milk
- 5.4 fl oz (160 ml) hot water
- 0.35 oz (10g) instant dry yeast
- 0.35 oz (10g) sugar
- 17.6 oz (500g) all-purpose flour
- 0.28 oz (8g) salt
- 0.63 oz (18g) (3 tablespoons) olive oil
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, hot water, instant yeast, and sugar. Let it rest for a few minutes until the yeast activates.
- In another bowl, mix the flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour and mix well to form a dough.
- Incorporate the olive oil and knead the dough until smooth and the oil is fully incorporated.
- Cover the dough with a drizzle of olive oil on top to prevent sticking and let it ferment in a warm place (between 96.8°F and 104°F / 36°C and 40°C) until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- After rising, divide the dough into 6 equal parts and form balls with each. Cover with plastic wrap to prevent drying out.
- Preheat a skillet or griddle until very hot.
- On a floured surface, roll out each dough ball into a disk about 7 inches (18 cm) in diameter and 0.2 inches (5 mm) thick.
- Cook each disk over medium heat on the hot skillet, flipping when bubbles start to form on the surface.
- Continue flipping until both sides are lightly golden and the bread has puffed up.
- Remove from the skillet and brush with melted butter (or olive oil). Optionally, sprinkle with crushed red pepper and chopped parsley.
