Cheese Cigarrette! A Brazilian Delight! Irresistible and Always a Favorite

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of ready-made pastry dough (wonton or egg roll wrappers can be used)
  • 600 g of mozzarella cheese
  • 200 g of cream cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preparation of the Cigarrette:
    • If the pastry dough is wrapped in plastic, keep it to prevent sticking.
    • Cut the dough into standardized pieces (12 cm in length, 2 cm in width).
    • Place a slice of cheese on the dough and roll it up, removing the plastic as you roll to seal it well.
    • Ensure the dough is tightly wrapped around the cheese to avoid empty spaces.
  2. Assembly and Sealing:
    • Press the ends of the dough to seal well, removing any air pockets.
    • Use a knife to cut the cigarrettes to the desired size.
  3. Optional Breading:
    • If desired, prepare a batter with 100 ml of water, 50 g of flour, 2 eggs, and 300 g of Panko breadcrumbs.
    • Dip the cigarrettes in the batter and coat with Panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Frying:
    • Heat the oil to a temperature between 100 to 120 degrees Celsius (212 to 248 degrees Fahrenheit).
    • Fry the cigarrettes until golden and crispy.
    • Avoid frying with bare hands; use appropriate utensils.
  5. Storage:
    • If necessary, store the cigarrettes in the refrigerator for up to two days before frying.
  6. Serving:
    • Serve the cigarrettes hot, either directly or packaged in your preferred containers.
