Delicious Brazilian Steak with Very Tender Onions

  • 4 steaks (sirloin, ribeye, or your choice)
  • 4 medium onions, sliced into rings
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 cup of beef broth (approx. 240 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish


  1. Season the steaks with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil and brown the steaks on both sides. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if necessary and sauté the garlic until golden.
  4. Add the onions and sauté until caramelized.
  5. Dissolve the flour in the beef broth and add to the pan.
  6. Stir until a consistent sauce is obtained.
  7. Return the steaks to the pan, covering them with the sauce. Cook on low heat until the meat is tender.
  8. Serve sprinkled with fresh herbs.
