Grandma’s Homemade Cake! Fluffy, Moist, and Irresistible!

  • 3 large eggs (about 180g each)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine (about 30g)
  • 2 cups of sifted all-purpose flour (240g per cup)
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar (about 180g)
  • 1 cup of warm milk (240ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder (15g)


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks, sugar, and butter until fluffy and pale, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the warm milk to the egg yolk mixture, then gradually add the sifted flour, mixing until smooth.
  5. Carefully fold the beaten egg whites into the batter, gently incorporating to maintain volume.
  6. Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan, preferably with a central cone, and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven, let it cool for about 15 minutes, then remove from the pan and serve.
