I no longer eat sugar! The famous American cake without flour and sugar

But that doesn’t mean you have to give up eating a delicious cake now and then. In this article, we will show you how to make a famous American cake without flour and sugar, which is as tasty as the original. You will be surprised by the result!


For the dough:

  • 200g of oat flour (approximately 2 cups or 7 oz)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 7g of baking powder (approximately 1 teaspoon)
  • 1 apple
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for greasing


  • 2 apples
  • 20g of water (approximately 2 tablespoons or 0.7 oz)
  • 30g of raisins (approximately 2 tablespoons or 1 oz)
  • Sliced almonds to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. In a container, add and mix the oat flour, a pinch of salt, and 7g of baking powder.
  2. Peel 1 apple and grate it.
  3. Mix the grated apples into the oat flour.
  4. Beat 1 egg with a fork and mix it into the oat flour until it forms a dough.
  5. Grease an 18 cm (7 inches) diameter pan with oil and pour the dough, pressing well into the bottom.
  6. Cut the other 2 apples into small cubes and place them in a frying pan.
  7. Add 20g of water and 30g of raisins to the grilled apples and cook until soft.
  8. Place this mixture on top of the dough in the pan.
  9. Sprinkle sliced almonds over the apple mixture.
  10. Bake the mixture for 35 minutes at 180°C (356°F).
  11. After that, it’s ready.
