ITALIAN 12-Spoon Cake! Easy and Delicious!

  • 3 eggs
  • 12 tablespoons of sugar (1 cup or 200g)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 12 tablespoons of vegetable oil (3/4 cup or 180ml)
  • 12 tablespoons of milk (3/4 cup or 180ml)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of half a lemon (about 1 tablespoon or 15ml)
  • 12 tablespoons of flour (1 cup or 120g)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder (about 10g)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 20cm (8-inch) round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt using a mixer until you get a foamy and light mixture.
  3. Add the oil, milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the egg mixture. Continue beating until fully incorporated.
  4. Mix in the flour and baking powder until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, tapping lightly to remove air bubbles.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before unmolding.
  8. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
