  • 4 tablespoons (60g) granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoons (30g) powdered milk
  • A pinch of salt (about 1/4 teaspoon)
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking powder
  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour (unbleached)
  • 70ml water (approximately 5 tablespoons or 2.4 fl oz)


  1. In a bowl, cream together the sugar and butter/margarine until smooth.
  2. Add powdered milk, salt, and baking powder, and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add water until a homogeneous dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  6. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
  7. Cut out the cookies using a cutter or knife, and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Use a toothpick to make decorative marks on the cookies.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
