  • 80 ml milk
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 60 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 400 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of vanilla sugar or vanilla extract


  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk and add the granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add the butter to the milk and sugar mixture, stirring until fully melted.
  3. Transfer the mixture to another bowl for making the dough. Add a pinch of salt, a pinch of vanilla sugar or vanilla extract, and an egg. Mix well.
  4. Sift the all-purpose flour and baking powder into the liquid mixture. Stir until you have a smooth batter.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and pliable.
  6. Dust the surface with flour and roll out the dough to approximately 8 mm thickness.
  7. Cut out the dough into discs about 8-9 cm in diameter.
  8. Place the discs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, brushing the surface with beaten egg.

  10. Use the leftover dough to form more discs and place them on the baking sheet.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 190-200°C (375-390°F) until golden brown.
