  • 2/3 cup (160 ml) milk
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 1/4 cups (250g) sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder


  1. In a bowl, mix the milk with the lemon juice and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the sugar, butter, and eggs until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Add the flour to the sugar and butter mixture, alternating with the curdled milk, stirring well until you get a smooth batter.
  4. Add the baking powder and mix again.
