You can easily make bread at home with just a skillet!

With this simple and quick recipe, you’ll be able to enjoy soft and delicious rolls without needing an oven. Follow the steps below to prepare these bread rolls in your own kitchen.


  • 1 egg
  • 1 oz (about 2 tbsp) sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast (3g)
  • 2.5 fl oz (about 5 tbsp) lukewarm milk
  • 0.1 oz (about 1/2 tsp) salt
  • 6.7 oz (about 1 1/2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 0.9 oz (about 2 tbsp) salted butter


  1. In a bowl, mix the egg, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the lukewarm milk and salt to the mixture and stir again.
  3. Sift the all-purpose flour over the mixture and stir vigorously until the flour is fully incorporated and the dough becomes smooth.
  4. Add the salted butter and mix well until absorbed into the dough.
  5. Knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  6. Wrap the dough and let it rest at room temperature until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  7. Once the dough has risen, gently press to release excess gases.
  8. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and divide into 19g (about 0.7 oz) pieces.
  9. Shape each piece into a ball, pinching the edges and rounding.
  10. Place the dough balls neatly in a greased skillet.
  11. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it ferment for 40 to 50 minutes.
  12. Cook over low heat for 11 to 13 minutes.
  13. Flip the dough balls upside down, cover the lid again, and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes.
  14. Ensure the rolls are well cooked and golden brown.
  15. Serve and enjoy these soft and fluffy rolls, which can be easily torn apart and savored.
